 latkin & Co. candles dominated the premium, home-aromatherapy landscape throughout the 90's; Harry Slatkin's products were everywhere. His 1870's Beaux Arts mansion, which could easily be referred to as The House That Wax built (beeswax, that is) is prominently featured in the August issue of Harper's Bazaar. The Upper East Side mansion, which he shares with his wife and 13 year-old twins, showcases a treasure trove of antiques and modern pieces alike. I'm always interested to see how "creatives" decorate their homes and live in their spaces and overall, I really do like this Manhattan high-rise, with its grey and white walls. Having recently purchased the venerable British clothing company, Belstaff, along with Tommy Hilfiger, it'll be interesting to see if he'll be able to re-fresh the 1924 fashion line; doing for it, what he did for candles. |   |
