One of my favorite places to explore, relax and take pictures is The Huntington Library, Art Collections & Botanical Gardens in San Marino. The fact that this vast estate was once a private residence is truly hard to believe. But, it's true! Henry Edward Huntington, along with architect, Myron hunt, completed the Beaux-Arts mansion in 1911. In 1913, he married Arabella Duval Huntington (she was previously married to his late uncle, Collis Huntington), and they both lived here until their deaths in 1927 and 1924, respectively.
It is a great place to take family, a date or out-of-town guests to see their amazing collection of American and European Art, not to mention acres of gardens: Japanese, Chinese, Australian, Desert, and in particular, the beautiful Rose garden. The day I went, it had rained overnight, so the grounds actually glistened with a remaining dew; making for great photos.
